About the Production Supervisor position
The Production Supervisor performs various tasks related to maintaining and improving production processes through managing teams and equipment. To succeed the Production Supervisor must be able to analyze production data and offer constructive improvements to optimize production output. These efforts ensure the production group is in support of company initiatives.
Production Supervisor responsibilities are:
- Supervise the entire operations of the facility with an aim for high performance
- Provide direction and schedules to the manufacturing department
- Manage the workflow by assigning responsibilities and preparing schedules
- Guide and coach employees (including disciplinary and non-disciplinary actions)٫ monitoring their productivity
- Resolves issues and disputes between manufacturing employees
- Adhere to all food safety, food defense, and company safety protocols to ensure the integrity of our products and compliance with established standards
- Ensure compliance with professional standards such as occupational health and safety and customer requirements.
- Responsible for upholding operational standards to prevent contamination and mitigate potential risks to product quality and consumer health, ensuring all processes align with food safety and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and prioritize workflow of production to meet deadlines
- Oversee safe use of equipment, schedule regular maintenance and contact appropriate sources for maintenance issues.
- Perform verification of production output according to specifications
- Prepare reports on performance and progress and present them to senior managers
- Detect issues in efficiency and suggest improvements
- Consult new employees on how to safely use machinery and follow procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
Production Supervisor requirements are:
- Bachelor’s degree from regionally accredited college or university, or a High School diploma with combination of education and experience.
- Certification in Operational management and safety standards preferred.
- Able to use critical thinking skills for research and analysis with a high attention to detail.
- Ability to be organized, flexible and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional negotiation and conflict resolution attributes
- Must be able to work with all levels of an organization and manage effectively.
- Outstanding interpersonal and effective communication skills required.
- Outstanding motivation skills and a positive attitude required.
- Prior supervisory experience
- Able to sit, walk, move around for long hours at a time
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Ability to work well with others in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
