About the Maintenance Technician position

The purpose of a Maintenance Technician is to ensure the smooth operation and longevity of equipment and facilities by performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs. They diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and operational issues to minimize downtime and ensure production efficiency. Maintenance Technicians are responsible for maintaining safety standards, following GMP guidelines, and ensuring equipment functions optimally.

Maintenance Technician responsibilities are:

  • Troubleshoots, diagnoses, and resolves maintenance failures using assembly drawings, P&IDs, manuals, and electrical principles like VFDs and PLCs.
  • Utilizes basic plumbing, metalworking, and general facilities/building maintenance knowledge as needed.
  • Operates and maintains devices such as gauges, temperature sensors, pressure transmitters, transducers, and flow meters.
  • Trains new Associates and team members on essential maintenance skills and assists with equipment troubleshooting.
  • Maintains a safe and orderly work area in compliance with GMP and Safety guidelines.
  • Supports operations by assisting with production needs and training Associates on basic equipment troubleshooting.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Maintenance Technician requirements are:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Certifications preferred (HVAC, PLC, Electrician, Robotics, Automotive, etc.).
  • Experience in food processing, with expertise in troubleshooting and repairing production equipment with sophisticated control systems, required
  • Highly skilled in mechanical and pneumatic flow, installation of packaging machinery related to robotics, and proper machine operating and adjusting procedures.
  • Knowledgeable in repairing and troubleshooting various pumps, including centrifugal, PD, sine, and diaphragm types.
  • Experience with automated conveyor systems, preventive maintenance, PLC programs, and familiarity with the National Electric Code (NEC).
  • Proficient in communication, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively as part of a Self-Directed work team.
  • Must have working knowledge of CMMS platforms, preferably LIMBLE, and possesses general mechanical, electrical, and logic knowledge.
  • Basic skills in plumbing, metalworking, and general facilities/building maintenance.
  • Follow site Environmental and Safety policies, including LOTO, Machine Guarding, PPE requirements, and maintenance safety guidelines.
  • Ability to contribute to Production Improvement, Associate Involvement, and Temporary Teams as needed.
  • Ability to work well with others in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships within a positive work environment.
